This month’s pattern, Coltsfoot, is a new color version of a design I made a few years ago. Here in northern Vermont, the Coltsfoot flower (Tussilago farfara) is a true harbinger of spring. It is always the first wild bloom I see and is followed shortly by a myriad of other ephemeral spring flowers. Once I see the small yellow blooms popping up in the roadside ditches, I know the wildflower hunt is on.
